Associate, Luxembourg

The Incumbent will work for NewSpace Capital GP SA and will be one of the key principle actors of the NewSpace Capital investment team, responsible to conduct specific activities necessary to support and enable the investment process and the performance of NewSpace Capital investment portfolio. The incumbent also contributes to the process for NewSpace Capital divestitures. The incumbent will report to the position of Partner or Principal. 


Primary responsibilities

  • Participate in the execution of the full investment cycle/manage and divestiture process within the NewSpace Capital business.

  • Screen and assess Investment targets based on investment pipeline and strategic fit analysis and contribute to the development and analysis of the investment pipeline.

  • Perform financial evaluation and manage deal structuring with internal/external legal and financial expertise as required.

  • Perform full market assessment and competitive positioning of Investment target and its product portfolio and provide business/operational expertise to the Investment Team for deal structuring as required. 

  • Participate in the due diligence process for all strategic, business and financial aspects. 

  • Manage and support deal negotiations and deal execution, and prepare and present investment decision documentation to the Investment Committee.

  • Prepare strategic positioning, market and financial related aspects of the investment decision documentation as well as divestiture documentation as determined per the deal team project schedule.

  • Define Key Performance Indicators (KPI) for monitoring performance of investments under his/her stewardship. 

  • Provide guidance and recommendations for timing and structuring of divestiture of specific investments of the portfolio.

  • Eagerness to stay up-to-date on the Space and PE/VC industries and eco-systems, their developments and trends; maintain professional learning and development through seminars, workshops, conferences and professional affiliations and networks.

Qualifications & experience

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent education (with a focus on business/investment where PE and Space-related education are clear advantages).

  • Master of Business Administration (MBA) or related degree preferred.

  • At least 5 years of working experience, preferably in the PE/VC industry and related eco-system with a clear preference for Space-related experience. 

  • Excellent corporate finance and strategy expertise, and experience in valuation, M&A transactions, due diligence processes and investment assessments. 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

  • Knowledge of the Space eco-system (or equivalent expertise from the PE/VC sector)

  • Industry relationship and network (Space and/or PE/VC)

  • Fluency in English; knowledge of other languages considered an additional asset.

  • Readiness to undertake international travel.
