Financial Analyst, Luxembourg

NewSpace Capital is currently looking to hire a financial planning analyst who will be based in Luxembourg and will be an important contributor to the NewSpace Capital Finance investment teams. The position will be responsible for planning, budgeting and reporting along with conducting specific activities necessary to support and enable the investment process and portfolio management. Other key aspects of the role include monitoring and reporting on the performance of investment portfolio, and contribute to the exit process for the Company’s divestures.

 

The position will be based in Luxembourg and will report to CFO. The position will report to the responsible Principal with respect to the Investment and divestiture process. 

 

Primary responsibilities

  • Coordinate and lead the annual business planning, budgeting and reporting processes including interfacing with service providers as required.

  • Perform the internal monthly financial reporting along with the external quarterly and annual reporting including interfacing with the Company’s auditors.

  • Participate in the execution of the full cycle investment/divestiture process.

  • Contribute to the initial financial and business assessment of investment targets based on investment pipeline.

  • Perform financial modeling tasks and provide financial and business expertise for deal structuring working with management, legal and the Investment Team.

  • Prepare financial and business of the investment decision documentation, including the definition of Key Performance Indicators (KPI) for monitoring performance of investments.

  • Participate in full market assessment and competitive positioning of investment target and its product portfolio, and provide financial expertise to the Investment Team for deal structuring with external expertise as required.

  • Eagerness to stay up-to-date on the Space and private equity industry and eco-system, its developments and trends; maintain professional learning and development through seminars, workshops, conferences and professional affiliations and networks.

Qualifications & experience

  • Bachelor and/or Masters degree or equivalent education in Business or Finance preferably with a corresponding professional qualification (or studying for one) such as a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or Chartered or Management Accountant (ACA or ACMA).

  • At least 3 years of working experience, after completing university degree and preferably in a private equity environment with experience of working in Luxembourg an advantage.

  • Experience in corporate finance including in valuation, M&A transactions, due diligence processes, investment assessments, etc..

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

  • Knowledge of the Space eco-system (or equivalent expertise from the VC/PE sector, policy/regulatory).

  • Industry relationship and network (Space and/or VC/PE/Policy/Regulatory).

  • Knowledge of other languages considered an additional asset.

  • Willingness to undertake international travel.
